Role of DWI in evaluation of HCC after radiofrequency ablation compared to dynamic MRI using MRI (3 T)

Abstract Background The purpose of this study was to investigate the diagnostic performance diffusion weight imaging (DWI), apparent coefficient (ADC) map, normalized ADC liver, and spleen compared dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) in evaluation residual hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after radiofrequency ablation (RFA) using 3 T (T) magnetic resonance (MRI). Results A prospective performed on 40 patients with radiofrequency-ablated HCC, 15 (37.5%) had viable lesion post-RFA, while 25 (62.5%) non-viable lesions. DCE-MRI a sensitivity, specificity, accuracy 100%, respectively, DWI which 80%, 88%, 85%, for identifying post-RFA HCC. at cutoff value 1.01 × 10 ?3 mm 2 /s were 97.1%, respectively. optimal liver 0.81 sensitivity 73.3%, specificity 96%, 92.8%. 1.22 92%, 91.1%, Conclusions DWI-MRI is reliable technique assessing HCC ablation. may be used as an alternate sequence lesions individuals who have contraindication contrast media, additional benefit.
